Who is Perrelet?
He was a renowned Swiss horologist who invented a self-winding mechanism in 1770 for pocket watches. Perrelet's watch worked on the same principle as a modern wristwatch, and was designed to wind as the owner walked, using an oscillating weight inside the large watch that moved up and down. Perrelet is thus widely acknowledged as the inventor of the basic movement known today as an AUTOMATIC (self-winding) movement.
5-minute repeater function: - Chimes the hour with one chime - Chimes the elapsed 5mins interval with 2 tones – one high and one low Example at 3:15 o’clock - the watch chimes three times for the hour, and three times of the 2 tones for the minutes
